WordPress runs a huge share of the websites you visit, from small business pages to big news sites. It's free, flexible and there's a plugin for nearly everything. But how fast and how reliably it runs depends almost entirely on the hosting underneath. Here's what to look for in WordPress hosting in Pakistan, based on what we see go wrong most often.
Does WordPress need special hosting?
Not strictly. WordPress runs on any normal cPanel hosting with PHP and MySQL, including our standard plans. "WordPress hosting" usually means hosting that's been set up with WordPress in mind: more resources, server-side caching and tools that make installs, backups and updates easier.
For a simple site with a few pages, standard hosting is fine. Once you add WooCommerce, a lot of plugins or real traffic, the extra resources start to matter.
What actually makes WordPress fast
Server-side caching. WordPress builds every page from the database each time someone visits, unless something caches it. LiteSpeed web servers with the LSCache plugin can serve pages from memory, which is about as fast as WordPress gets on shared hosting. All our WordPress plans run on LiteSpeed.
CPU and RAM. These matter more than disk space. A WooCommerce checkout, a page builder like Elementor or a busy admin panel all lean on processing power. Ask any host for the CPU and RAM per account.
A recent PHP version. Newer PHP versions are noticeably faster and more secure. You should be able to pick the version per site from cPanel.
Server location. If your visitors are in Pakistan, a server in Karachi cuts the round-trip time compared to one abroad. It shows most on mobile data connections.
Security and backups
WordPress sites get attacked mostly because of outdated plugins and weak passwords, not WordPress itself. Good hosting helps in two ways:
- Malware scanning. Our servers run Imunify360, which watches files in real time and blocks known malware before it runs.
- Backups you can restore yourself. With JetBackup in cPanel you can roll back a site, a single file or a database without opening a ticket. That's the difference between a bad plugin update costing you five minutes or a day.
On your side: keep plugins updated, delete the ones you don't use, and don't use "admin" as your username.
Installing WordPress
On our plans it takes about two minutes. Log in to cPanel, open Softaculous, choose WordPress, enter your site name and admin login, and it installs with the database created and SSL applied. There's a step-by-step guide with screenshots in the knowledgebase: how to install WordPress in cPanel.
Already have a WordPress site elsewhere? We migrate it free. Send us your current cPanel login and we move the files, database and email, usually without any downtime.
Which plan should you choose?
- A blog or brochure site: a standard web hosting plan is enough to start.
- A business site with plugins, a page builder or steady traffic: the entry WordPress hosting plan.
- A WooCommerce store: go for one of the higher WordPress plans. The extra CPU and RAM keep checkout quick when several people are buying at once.
Every WordPress plan includes free SSL, a free domain with yearly billing and a 30-day money-back guarantee on hosting, so you can try it properly before committing.
If you're still weighing up hosts, our checklist on choosing the best web hosting in Pakistan applies just as much to WordPress. And if you're not sure which plan fits your site, message us with your site's URL and we'll take a look.
